A homeless Harvard harridan has been revealed as the faded Diva "Gretchen" Esplanada, whose career was tragically cut short in a freak accident when a hummingbird flew down her windpipe during singing practice. Already plagued by scandal after being caught in a public restroom with something else down her throat - and rampant rumors of Nazi sympathies due to a dalliance with former Third Reich bigwig Rudolph Reinhard - the little birdie sealed the deal and killed her career. Since then "Gretchen" has become a Harvard fixture, haunting the location of her last successful performance and carrying a torch for the distant and elusive Jon Gold.
